The Offspring to Open On the Waterfront 2012

ROCKFORD -- On the Waterfront announced today that The Offspring will make a stop in Rockford to kick off the 29th annual festival on the Great Lawn stage, Thursday, August 30th, 2012.

Selling more than 36 million albums worldwide, The Offspring is one of the best-selling punk rock bands of all time. The Orange County, California band was formed in 1984, and since their debut, they have released nine albums, with 26 charting singles.  With their second album, Smash, alone selling over 11 million albums, The Offspring quickly made their name in punk music as the highest selling band ever on an indie label.

Some of The Offspring's mega-hits include, "Come Out and Play (Keep 'Em Separated)," "Self Esteem,"  "Gotta Get Away," "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)," "Why Don't You Get a Job?," "The Kids Aren't Alright" and "She's Got Issues."

Reserved seats for The Offspring will go on sale Friday, July 13 at noon and can be purchased at www.onthewaterfront.com, or by calling 877-569-7767. Reserved seats will cost $32.50, Gold Seats (first three rows) will be $79.50, and lawn seats will go on sale at a later date.
