July 18, 2012 (ROCKFORD) The service disruption left a mark on several local businesses.

Power was out to over 1,400 people at the height of the power outage this morning, but for several businesses downtown the headache continued until roughly quarter to three.

The power was out for CJ's Lounge at the corner of State and Madison so were the traffic lights at the intersection there.

The restaurant says, it operated on a limited menu because they couldn't reach some of the food in their pitch black basement.

CJ's manager says, her customers know when the doors are open it means the ac's off and that deterred many patrons from coming in.

CJ's says, their Comcast service came on about a half-hour after the lights came back on. No word yet on how many were actually affected by Comcast's outage.

As for comping of services lost today-- a representative from Comcast says generally the company only credits service for interruptions over 24 hours.

However they will deal with customers on an individual basis.
