More than 400 horses that belonged to Dixon's former Comptroller, Rita Crundwell, will be sold to help the city recover some of the money lost in the scandal.

The U.S. Marshall Services will determine the exact date for the sale.  But, it has to happen by Sept. 30 according to the judge's order.  Also during today's hearing, Crundwell's lawyer asked for more time to prepare for trial, that's because he's sifting through nearly 20,000 pages of discovery evidence.

But, one Dixon resident we talked to says he wants this dark chapter of the town's history to close sooner rather than later.  "I know court moves slowly and that's for sure" says Milo Teller.  "I mean that way the system works, but hopefully there'll be some resolution beginning with maybe next court session or shortly because it's drug on already for several months now."

Crundwell is accused of stealing $53 million from the city.  Her next hearing is set for August 29.
