Chicago - Gov. Pat Quinn (D) took a moment today to address the Colorado movie theatre shooting, which left 12 people and more than a dozen in critical condition.

He says the tragedy is a perfect example as to why Illinois needs to maintain its ban on concealed carry, as well as on assault weapons.

The shooter, James Holmes, legally bought all the guns he used in the massacre.  Quinn says the incident confirms the state is doing the right thing by keeping the ban.
