West Nile Virus Strikes Cook County Woman

Cook County - A woman becomes the first human in the state to be infected with the West Nile Virus.

State health officials say the hot and dry weather we've had recently has caused a rise in mosquitoes infected with the virus.

The best way to avoid them is to wear insect repellent.  Also, stay indoors between dusk and dawn, since that's when mosquitoes are most active.
