Belvidere - City leaders have an extra $250,000 to spend and they want your thoughts on how to spend it.

An open house was held tonight at city hall.  The money is left over from TIF district funds.  The 23 year-term expires next year and they have to spend the money before then.

A few ideas being tossed around include a facade grant program, touching up city murals, and street repairs.  Aldermen say they favor any project that would draw people to shop downtown.

All ideas must be presented by August 16.
