Winnebago County, Illinois-As if the youngest championship flight in Rockford Women's Classic history needed more drama, 18 year old Cynthia bounleutay and 17 year old Melisaa Vansistine were neck and neck through their entire championship match Thursday at Atwood.

"It was exciting I guess. I was happy to be keeping up and it was nice that we were close. There were a lot of people watching so it was exciting for them too," said Vansistine.

"Nerve wrecking. Because you know at any time in match play anyone can make a putt from a far distance," said Bounleutay.

If there was an advantage to be had it might have fallen to bounleutay who sank a 30 football birdie putt on the 11th hole. She led for nearly the entire back nine.

"I was actually thinking about just two-putting that," said Bounleutay. "You know, me and my dad were just like 'Two putt it and you'll be good.' And then my heart was just like, 'This is going in!' and it went in."

But when Vansistine tied it on the 17th hold both golfers could sense a playoff was coming.

"I was nervous. But yesterday I was in a playoff and I think I was more nervous yesterday because it was my first playoff in a big tournament," said Bounleutay.

"Just go out and do what I'd been doing before. Nothing different, just do my best and hope for the best," said Vansistine.

Bounleutay was able to pull out a vicotry after Vansistine drove left on the opening playoff hole.  But both of these young golfers were grateful for the compeition and the growing experience.

"Even though I didn't win, I'm still really glad I chose to play in this tournament, and that I made it as far as I did," said Vansistine.

"Melissa was really tough to beat today. So winning against her, it meant a lot," said Bounleutay.

It's Bounleutay's first Women's Classic Championship.  She just graduated from Jefferson High School this spring.
