A dedication ceremony will be held Saturday, August 25th at 3 p.m. at the stadium before Byron's season opening football game.
Stine was Byron's head coach for 37 years from 1967-2003. His teams had an overall record of 222-130-6. 15 of those teams made the playoffs. Ten won conference championships. The 1999 team won a State Championship.
66 of Stine's players went on to play college football. Two of them, Sean Considine and Troy Drake, went on to play in the NFL.
But many people would say that Stine's greatest legacy was that he taught the lessons of hard work, teamwork, humbleness, preparedness, pride, and commitment to excellence among others.
