New Laws Could Raise State High School Graduation Rates

Gov. Pat Quinn (D) signs three bills into law to increase the state's high school graduation rate.
The first creates the Commission for High School Graduation Achievement and Success. The group must present its first report to lawmakers by November.
The second law requires schools to make health exams and immunizations records available to the public.
The third law creates a program to help students with different backgrounds breakdown barriers to maximize their educational achievement.
