Rockford - The number of students at Rock Valley College is on the decline.

It's down 2% from last year.  But, school officials say that's good news.  They say there's a trend between decreasing attendance and positive gains in the economy.  "As people are finding employment opportunities that meet their needs, their family needs, it may mean that the motivation to attend college and to work on a degree that would allow them a  promotion for example may be more difficult for them to work into their schedule" says Amy Diaz, Vice President of Student Development.

If you're interested, there's still time to enroll for the Fall semester.  An open house will be held from 8am - noon.
