Residential Fire on the City's South East Side

Around midnight last night an abandoned house on the 2000 block of Sewell street caught ablaze. The house, abandoned for over a year was suffered extensive damage.

After neighbors called it in, firefighters arrived on scene quickly and extinguished the flames. Neighbors reported seeing unidentified teenagers hanging around the house shortly before it caught ablaze. The fire is being looked at as "suspicious" by the Rockford fire department
