Thomson Prison Sale Held Up By Virginia Congressman

To deal with overcrowded prisons, the federal government wants to buy the vacant Thomson Prison. But, one person is preventing that from happening.

Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) heads a sub-committee that can help approve the sale.  But, he says the $165 million price tag is too much, leaving local politicians on both sides steamed.

If the sale eventually goes through it would create more than a thousand jobs.
