Insight Communications Sets Tentative Date for Upgrades

By: Import User
Updated: March 1, 2007
Rockford, Illinois - Insight Communications has tentatively announced Thursday, May 25th as the day its final upgrades for Northern Illinois customers will take place. For the past two months Insight Communications has been upgrading its system from a third party platform to its own network. In Northern Illinois more than 2,300 customers have lost internet service or have had interruptions with their service. Joan Sage of Insight Communications told WTVO, "It is something we hoped would not happen. We felt that we were very prepared, but once you do something like that until you really do it you`re not completely certain what is going to happen." Because of the over abundance of customer complaints Insight decided to wait on completing its final stage of the upgrade process. Sage said, "People are on-line and its going very well. The steps that needed to be taken have been taken and that`s why we waited a bit to do this final step." During the final step, all the Northern Illinois customers that have not been transferred over to the new platform will be moved. But before the local upgrades occur, three other upgrades have to happen first. Upgrades in Bowling Green, Kentucky; Evansville, Indiana and Danville, IL are expected to occur today. If all goes well, Insight says the upgrades here will go as scheduled.
