(Rockford, Illinois) The Jane Adams Village in Rockford will be torn down in 2007. The near east side housing development is run by the Rockford Housing Authority and provides 84 units for 149 low income residents. The RHA Interim Director Steve Anderson says the plan was recently approved by the Federal Government and is being done as a cost cutting measure and adds, "Our goal is to create a better quality of life for them and for the community. Counselors will be meeting with the residents and helping them with the move."
