By: Import User
Updated: March 1, 2007
Chicago- It`s official. Your electric bill will go up a lot starting next month. Commonwealth Edison customers will pay 24% more unless state lawmakers take action to stop it. The utility had already said there would be a 22% increase to pay for higher energy costs. Wednesday, the Illinois Commerce Commission allowed an increase of about 2% more to pay for delivery costs. The ICC also approved a plan that allows consumers to phase-in higher bills over three years. But the catch is you have to pay later at 3.25% percent interest. The plan is voluntary.
