Rockford Police Investigate 17th Murder of the Year

Rockford, IL - Rockford police say one man was shot and left for dead on Christmas Eve. It happened at South Main and Morgan St. Police say the people involved fled the scene. Thats when they may have lost control of their minivan. Reports say a minivan rolled down into an embankment and flipped over into a ditch on Bypass 20 near the 11th St. exit. One person is at SwedishAmerican hospital, another at Rockford Memorial hospital, and one person is in custody, according to Rockford police. Police wont release names or their conditions. Police are investigating the roll-over accident and shooting.
