Beloit, Wisconsin - 8-year-old Ana Mendoza would have turned nine Monday, but instead of planning for a birthday party her family and friends are planning her funeral. She died Wednesday night when she and her 10-year-old cousin were playing on a table at Liberty Laundromat and it fell over and crushed her.
When police arrived at the laundromat around 6:45 Wednesday evening, Ana was hardly breathing. Surveillance video shows the girls had followed their mothers into the laundromat and had only been there seconds before the accident occurred.
Beloit Police Chief William Tyler explains what he saw. "They were right there. They were walking in. We saw them at the door and the girls had just climbed onto the table and were hanging. I guess it looks to them like a jungle gym kind of thing and it flipped over immediately. Its not like they were jumping on it for an extended period of time."
