Bullying Blamed For Child's Death

By: Colin Clarke
Updated: November 14, 2011

(Ridge Farm)  --  Police are investigating the death of a ten-year-old Ridge Farm girl.
Ashlynn Conner was found hanging in a closet at her home on Friday morning.
Her mother says she had been bullied and teased by neighborhood children for years.
She said it had gotten so bad that Ashlynn asked to be home-schooled just one day before she allegedly took her own life.
Vermilion County Sheriff Pat Hartshorn says they're investigating claims of bullying from every angle including in person and through email, Twitter, and text.
Counselors are on hand at Georgetown Ridge Farm Elementary School today.
