Ogle County - A woman who lost her leg in a deer hunting accident settles for $1.5 million from sporting goods store, Gander Mountain.

It's the highest liability payout ever recorded in the county's history.  The money goes to Christy Batsch.  In 2004, Batsch went deer hunting and used a climbing tree stand she bought from Gander Mountain.  She climbed about 15 feet before the safety lock released, sending Batsch hard to the ground.  The fall fractured her ankle to the point doctors had to amputate her leg before the knee.
