Rockford Man Sentenced in 2008 Stabbing Murder

Rockford - A man who stabbed his roommate more than a dozen times in 2008 is sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Walter Woodard, 24, was convicted of 1st degree murder in the death of Allen Walker.  According to police, the two men were fighting in their apartment on Winnebago Street when Woodard pulled out a knife and stabbed Walker 16 times.

Officers arrested him immediately after the murder.  Woodard must serve his entire sentence.
