The robotics team held an awards banquet tonight to showcase it's wins to team sponsors.

High school students from around the area work with professionals to build the robots, something you don't normally get to do in a high school setting.

The team uses real, professional equipment which helps the students learn skills they can take with them into the real world.

Rockford Robotic's Team Captain, Eli Hall  said this year's robot is his favorite the team has made thus far.

"It's a robot that plays basketball and the torrent automatically lunes up at the hopp and calculates how far to shoot," described Hall.
