"The community
seems to be getting behind us in terms of what we're trying to do."
And that community support has Rockford School
Superintendent Dr. Robert Willis excited about the district's future.
"We're getting
good, positive support from the business community recognizing that they've got
investments with the schools being productive in terms of employees coming out
ready for the workforce."
The district
launched a number of programs to promote success at all levels. In addition,
"To build on
the qualities that are necessary for success, character, integrity, the notion
of going back to your community ...The
notion of being part of the team, discipline."
Dr. Willis believes
the key to district 205's success lies in a team approach.
"It has to be
a total community embracing every child and saying we care about you. We're not
gonna let you fail.
Dr. Willis
says he's confident district 205 will prove urban districts can thrive and
bring prosperity to the community.
