Firefighters worked to put out the three alarm fire in the 5000 block of Porter Road in Rockford. Several fire departments responded. The Red Cross is helping out three adults and two children who lived in the home. They were sleeping at the time of the fire.  There were no injuries reported. Fire officials believe the fire might have started in the kitchen but they're still investigating. The home is a total a loss.
