Storms cause Dixon Correctional Center to Transfer Prisoners

Severe storms swept through Lee County Friday night causing a power outage and significant damage to Dixon Correctional Center.

 

According to the Illinois Department of Corrections because of roof damage 78 inmates were transferred to Pontiac Correctional Center.

 

No one was injured in the storm. Emergency generators are supplying power to Dixon Correctional Center.

 

The facility is currently on lockdown with limited visits.
