Rockford - After a year leading public school teachers and going through tense negotiations with the school district, the President of the Rockford Education Association retires.

Karen Bieschke will work with Dawn Granath, who is the union Vice President to help with the transition.  Granath takes over until an election to find a new president can be held, which should happen at the beginning of the school year.
