Armed Robbery at Rockford Currency Exchange

ROCKFORD - Shortly after 12:30PM, Rockford Police were called to the scene of an armed robbery at the Currency Exchange located at 1100 N. Avon Street.

A resident was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot.  The suspect, described as a black male, 6' tall, 180lbs, wearing a white tank top and jeans, demanded money and fired a shot at the victim.  Money was taken and the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect was armed with a small caliber semi-automatic handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rockford Police Department.
