DEKALB - Northern Illinois University offensive lineman Logan Pegram suffered a lower leg fracture during the Huskie football team's morning practice at Huskie Stadium, NIU Head Coach Dave Doeren announced Monday. Pegram, a senior, will undergo surgery and will be out indefinitely.

"We feel bad for Logan," NIU head coach Dave Doeren said. "We know that injuries are a part of the game, and we'll operate under the 'next man' mentality and look forward to the younger guys stepping up."

The lone returning starter on the Huskie offensive line entering 2012, Pegram has made 22 career starts, including 12 at left guard in 2011. He moved to center at the beginning of the 2012 preseason sessions. A native of Silver Lake, Kan., he played in 35 games over the last three seasons.
