IceHogs Schedule Released 8/17/12

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, in conjunction with the
American Hockey League, announced the team's 2012-13 regular season schedule.
The IceHogs 14th season of professional hockey in Rockford and sixth as the top
affiliate of the National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks will begin on
Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Allstate Arena against the Chicago Wolves. After three road games to start the campaign, Rockford will open the home portion of their regular season slate on Saturday, Oct. 20 against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 5,000 fans to the IceHogs home opener will receive a 2012-13 team calendar sponsored by BMO Harris Bank. Rockford's new schedule features 38 home games and 38 away contests while the team plays in the AHL's Midwest Division. Of the 38 home tilts, 29 of them fall on the weekend, including 11 Friday, 14 Saturday and four Sunday games. The only Monday home game falls on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 21), while the IceHogs will also play two Tuesday contests, four Wednesday games and two Thursday tilts at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The 2012-13 regular season will conclude for Rockford on Saturday, April 20 in Texas against the Stars. The team's final regular season home game is set for Friday, April 12 against Chicago. On Sunday, Nov. 18, the IceHogs are scheduled to take on the Houston Aeros, the AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, at the Excel Energy Center in St. Paul, Min. at 5:05 p.m. Rockford's longest homestand is five games from Friday, Jan. 18 leading into the AHL's All-Star Break on Saturday, Jan. 26. The AHL's All-Star festivities start on Sunday, Jan. 27 with the Skills Competition and concludes with the All-Star Game on Monday, Jan. 28 in Providence. Game times for home contests this season are set for 7:05 p.m. with the exception of Monday, Jan. 21 (1:05 p.m.) and Sunday home games (5:05 p.m.) Individual game tickets will go on-sale on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling (815) 968-5222, online through icehogs.com, in person at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office or at any Ticketmaster outlets.
