Beloit, Wisconsin- When the Gateway Business Park in Beloit opened a couple of years ago, businesses were slow to come.
"It sat for about two years," says Beloit City Manager Larry Arft. "But the breakthrough was getting Staples and once the Staples project was announced, then we started getting regular inquiries."
Now, another business has agreed to build in the Gateway Park.
"On Monday, we learned that another manufacturing firm has agreed to terms to purchase a site in the Gateway Business Park."
But Arft is keeping the name of that business to himself.
"I can tell you that it is a manufacturing firm and will be creating about 85 more jobs in the city of Beloit this year," says Arft. "That`s on top of the 600 jobs created by other projects."
Arft says Beloit didn`t seek out this new business. Rather, they came after Beloit.
