Enderle is big at 6'4", 240lbs. He made 37 starts at Idaho passing for 8,181 yards and 62 touchdowns. He was intercepted 53 times.
The Bears say he has a very strong arm, and they're impressed by his intelligence.
"Picking up a quarterback in the fifth found, coach (Mike) Martz went out to work him out, we saw him at an all-star game in San Antonio and Tim (Ruskell) did a lot of work on him when he was in Seattle," said Bears GM Jerry Angelo. "His junior year, we had heard talk of him coming out early so we had a pretty good handle on him and the value of the position, again precipitated everything else for it in terms of other players at that point. Also, to what we said earlier, we want to develop our own quarterbacks and we want to stay with that plan. We hit a speed bump last year and we just felt like the plan is in place and we feel very good with him coming on board."
The Bears used their final pick of the draft in the sixth round on linebacker J.T. Thomas of West Virginia.
