DeKalb, Illinois-The Auburn Knights are headed to State in boys basketball for the first time since 1975. They won the 4A NIU Super-Sectional Tuesday by defeating Gurnee Warren 49-43.
Senior Guard Fred Van Vleet led the Knights. He took over the second half of the game scoring the bulk of his 27 points.
The Knights will play in the State Semifinals Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.
