Women's State Amateur 6/12/12

Homewood, Illinois-Teenager Madasyn Pettersen leads the local golfers at the Illinois Women's State Amateur Golf Tournament.
During the 18 hole qualifying round Tuesday Pettersen had the second best score of the day a 73 on the par 70 Ravisloe Country Club layout. That was one stroke behind medalist Elizabeth Azokol of Winnetka.
Rockford's Cynthia Bounleutay shot an 81 to also make the Championship Flight. Salley Wessels made the Third Flight. And Abbey Sullivan of Rockford also made the Third Flight.
Match Play will begin on Wednesday. The tournament runs through Friday.
