Tough Day For Local Ladies 6/13/12

Homewood, Illinois-The opening round of match play was not kind to local golfers in the Illinois Women's State Amateur Tournament.

12 year old Madasyn Petterson of Rockford, who was the second qualifier in stroke play Tuesday, lost her opening match 1-up to Char McLear of McHenry.

Chynthia Bounleutay lost her opening match 1-up to Maggie Ambrose of Springfield also in the Championship Flight.

In the Third Flight Abbey Sullivan of Rockford lost 2-up to Ashley Howard of Wilmington.

The lone local winner Wednesday was Salley Wessels of Mt. Morris.  In the Third Flight she defeated Lauren Daron 4 & 3.
