Rockford - The Burpee Museum gets ready to rock with local legendary guitarist, Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick.

They're building up to unveil their new exhibit, "Rick's Picks: A Lifelong Affair with Guitars and Music".

More than 70 of Nielsen's guitars will be on display, along with stage clothing and other memorabilia.

It opens to the public on Saturday.  Organizers say the reasoning behind the project is simple.  "I would say a couple of things: pay homage to the amazing work this guy has done" says Jay Graham, Founding Partner of GrahamSpencer.  "He really is a phenomenal musician and also reveal the real Rick Nielsen to the world, that's what you'll see when you come here."

The first 150 people to attend Saturday's opening will receive a poster from Nielsen.
