Updated: August 20, 2012
Augusta, Georgia-The home of the Masters will never be the same. Monday the Augusta National Golf Club announced it is going to welcome two female club members this fall.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina financier Darla Moore have been invited to join the club, and they have accepted.

In its 80 year history Augusta National has never had female members. Currently there are 300 members in the club.

Over the years Augusta National has been the scene of protests by women's groups. Each year during the Masters the club drew criticism for its policy of no women members.

Up to this point women had been allowed to play on the course as guests.
