Icemen Blast PREP 3/13/13

On Wednesday night at the Edge in Bensenville, the Icemen dominated their game against the combined #9 ranked team, PREP (Palatine, Rolling Meadows, Elk Grove, Prospect) by a final score of 8 to 2.

The Icemen specialized in short-handed goals during the night, with two coming in the first period and another two in the third period. "Shorties" were made by Adam Goethals, Blake Miller, Erik Swanberg, and Tom Breitfuss. Additional goals were made by Miller, Brett Stewart, Andres Cruz and Andy Cropp.

Goalie Emo Colarossi held down the net during the first two periods. Brandon Roderick came in to close out the third period but was injured with 3:50 left in the game so Colarossi returned to the net to finish the game.

The Icemen will play in the semi-final game on Sunday, March 17 at 12:55 pm at the Edge (AHAI Hockey Center) in Bensenville. The opponent will be determined tomorrow night in the game between A.W.F Renegades (Addison Trail, Fenton, Glenbard East, Montini Catholic, and Willowbrook) and Waubonsie Warriors.
