Riveters Prepare To Open Season 4/9/12

Rockford, Illinois-Rockford has a history of women's sports teams. It started with the Peaches fastpitch baseball team. Then it continued with the Thunder fastpitch softball team. Now there's the Rockford Riveters.
It's a women's tackle football team that plays in the Independent Women's Football League. The Gridiron Gals will kickoff their season this Saturday (April 14th) at Minnesota. They'll play their home opener the following Saturday (April 21st) at Freeport High School against the Iowa Crushers.
