Triple Crown Run Over 6/8/12

New York, NY-Once again horse racing will go another year without a Triple Crown winner.  Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner 'I'll Have Another' has been scratched from Saturday's Belmont Stakes with a sore leg.

The horse's trainer noticed a swollen left front leg Thursday and again Friday morning after 'I'll Have Another' took a light jog.  A doctor confirmed that the horse has a swollen tendon which he says is the beginning of tendinitis.  The horse would need six months of treatment before it could race again.  Instead of that "I'll Have Another's Owners have decided to retire the horse from racing.

"It's a huge disappointment," said the horse's trainer Doug O'Neill.

There hasn't been a Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978.
