Rockford, Illinois-Whatever happened to Ronnie Fields? That's what fans of the old Rockford Lightning and what fans of Chicago High School basketball often ask.

Tuesday he was in Rockford appearing at the Rockford All-Star basketball camp at Jefferson High School.  And as he spoke to the kids a camera recorded him.

Everywhere Fields goes these days a camera follows because he's making a documentary on his life called 'Ronnie Fields Bouncing Back.'

Fields was critically injured in an auto accident right after high school.  And he had some run-ins with the law.  He wants kids to know that if they stumble they also can bounce back.

"No one in this world is perfect," said Fields to WTVO.  "We all make mistakes, but once you feel deep down inside that you want to right those wrongs you get those opportunities, and I have been able to get those opportunities and continue to move forward."

Fields is recently retired from playing basketball.

This is the 31st year of the Rockford All-Star Basketball Camp under the direction of former Guilford and Kansas standout Dale Greenlee.  230 kids are attending this week.
