NASA's Mars "Curiosity" Rover Gets Gear Help From Roscoe's Forest City Gear

August 3, 2012 (ROSCOE) The NASA's Mars "Curiosity" Rover project started in 2008 when Forest City Gear took on an opportunity to perfect gears for the project.
Over 30 employees worked on this $1 million dollar project by cutting and inspecting around 100 parts-- including the rotating and drive housing gear.
These parts are just some of the parts responsible for setting the rover in motion.
Forest City Gear Production Manager hopes "Curiosity" will land successfully.
"Curiosity" is scheduled to land on Mars around 12:30 a.m. central time on Sunday morning.
If the rover's entry and landing goes smoothly then it will begin its two year quest to explore the red planet.
