Rockford - A charter school is exactly what District 205 needs to bring high school dropouts back to the classroom; at least that's what GreenTek Career Academy is saying.

On Wednesday, they submitted a proposal to RPS leaders.  It targets students 17-21 years old who've been out of school for at least a year or are considered "at-risk".

If approved, GreenTek would be the only charter school in the area to serve high school students.

A decision could be made next month.
