Chicago, Illinois-The Cubs have assigned top prospect Jorge Soler to the Peoria Chiefs of the Class A Midwest League. Soler joined the team Thursday night in Burlington.

Soler is a Cuban native. He's considered a five-tool prospect. The Cubs won a free agent bidding war for him in June when they offered him $30 million dollars for nine years.

Since then Soler had been a rightfielder for the Cubs Rookie League Team in Mesa, Arizona.

Soler and the Chiefs will play a three game series in Beloit against the Snappers this Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
