Peoria,
Ill.- Another
solid goaltending performance from Carter Hutton led the Rockford IceHogs to a
4-0 win over the Peoria Rivermen on Wednesday night at Carver Arena.
Hutton stopped all 35 Rivermen shots for his second shutout of the season and
helped backstop Rockford
to a perfect 6-for-6 on the penalty kill. Up 2-0 in the second period, Rockford was down two men
for 1:36, but staved off the Rivermen rally. The offense did the rest in the
Hogs third straight victory.
Rockford struck
early on Wednesday to grab a 1-0 lead. Terry Broadhurst redirected a Klas
Dahlbeck point shot past Mike McKenna and in just 48-second into the game for
his third goal of the season.
A power play strike extended Rockford's
lead to 2-0 in the second period. Off a face off win from Brad Mills, Jeremy
Morin one-timed a Shawn Lalonde pass past McKenna for his 17th goal of the
season at 9:20 of the second period and just four seconds into the power play.
Late in the third period, Peoria
pulled McKenna for the extra attacker, but Kyle Beach set up Martin St. Pierre
for his team-leading 18th goal of the season at 18:37. Kenndal McArdle added
one more at 18:52, knocking in a Brandon Pirri feed for his third tally of the
