Rockford, Illinois-Indoor football is returning to Rockford for two games this summer. The Chicago Rush will play a pair of games due to scheduling conflicts at the All-State Arena in Rosemont.

The games will be played Saturday, June 8th against Utah and Saturday, June 15th against San Antonio.

The Rush are under new ownership with Chiago native David Staral Jr. He's hired an entirely new staff of management and coaches. "We hope to continue to build on the legacy of this historic team, but give fans an experience they have never seen before" said Staral in a statement released by the Rush.

The Rush will kickoff its season on March 23 against the Iowa Barnstormers in Chicago.

Rockford was the scene of the first ever arena football game in 1986 at the MetroCentre. The Rockford Metros played the Chicago Politicians in an exhibition game.

Indoor football returned to Rockford with the Rock River Raptors which played from 2006 through 2009 before the franchise folded.
