Van Vleet All-State 3/14/12

Rockford, Illinois-It's a rare honor for a Rockford basketball player.  Auburn senior point guard Fred Van Vleet is one of five players to make the All-State Team First Team.

Van Vleet has led the Knights to a 31-2 record and a trip to the 4A State Tournament.  He led the NIC-10 in scoring, assists and steals.

He's joined on the first team by the following players:
Jabari Parker-Chicago Simeon
Steve Taylor-Chicago Simeon
Malcolm Hill-Bellville East
Keith Carter-Proviso East

Freeport senior guard Luke Norman earned Honorable Mention All-State.
