Rockford - A 35 year-old woman is lucky to be alive tonight after rolling her Jeep on the bypass.

Witnesses say the driver was trying to make an illegal u-turn at a high rate of speed when she lost control, rolling over four to five times.  Rescue crews had to extricate the woman from her car.  It happened around 1:15pm in the westbound lanes near the 11th Street exit.

The driver was taken to OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.  She's expected to recover.
