Rockford, Illinois-The NIC-10 Track & Field Meet at Auburn Friday was as close as everyone thought it would be.  In the end Belvidere North's distance runners pulled out the championship for the Blue Thunder.

North got a first place finish from Troy Yunk in the 3200m run.  Will Crocker and Cole Considine finished 1-2 for North in the 800m.  And Garrett Lee and Yunk finished 1-2 in the 1600m.

Even with all that North still needed a victory in the final event of the night the 1600m relay to claim the championship.  They got that with Crocker anchoring across the finish line and then getting mobbed by his teammates.

North finished with 112 points.  Harlem had 106.  Hononegah was third with 84, and Boylan fourth with 72.
