Marengo-Boylan Softball 5/28/12

Rockford, Illinois-Marengo has cleared its first hurdle on its way to perhaps repeating as 3A State Softball Champions.  The Lady Indians knocked off Boylan 10-0 in five innings Monday to win the 3A Boylan Regional.

Marengo struck for six runs in the first two innings to take command of the game.  And pitcher Lindsey Melson surrendered only two hits while striking out five batters.

Marengo raises its record to 32-5.
