Machesney Park, Illinois-Jefferson's growing basketball program took another step forward Monday night.  The J-Hawks won the championship of the Harlem Summer League.

The J-Hawks held off East in the title game 58-55.  Jefferson had opened up a double-digit lead early in the second half only to see the E-Rabs storm back to make it a one point game with just under five minutes remaining.

But Jefferson's Jared Mayes drained a key three-pointer late that made the difference.

In the semifinals Jefferson edged Lutheran 53-51.  East beat Winnebago 65-57.  In the third place game Bago beat Lutheran 58-59.
