Chrysler Belvidere Closed Today

By: Robert Schaper
Updated: August 8, 2012
The Chrysler Belvidere assembly plant is closed for the day, due to a supply-chain problem.

Jody Tinson, a spokeswoman for Chrysler, said both shifts are off today. But, she added, normal production is expected to resume on Thursday. Tinson would not give specifics about the closure, saying only that it was due to "an external supplier."

The plant makes the new Dodge Dart and the Jeep Compass and Patriot.
